Pinal County Board of Supervisors meeting – 12/21/11, 9:30 am

December 1st, 2011

The Arizona State Land Department continues to move forward with their Superstition Vistas amendment to the Pinal County Comprehensive Plan.  A modified version of the original submittal will be considered by the Pinal County Board of Supervisors at their monthly Board meeting on December 21, 2011. The Board first considered the proposed amendment at their meeting on October 19th.  After hearing testimony from the representative of the State Land Department and other interested parties, the Board remanded the amendment back to the Pinal County Planning and Zoning Commission for further review and consideration.  The Board requested that the Planning and Zoning Commission review several new density designations and a Magma Railroad corridor land use proposal that had been presented by the State Land Department at the October 19th. meeting.  The Planning and Zoning Commission met on November 17th and held another public hearing on the proposed modifications.  The Commission again recommended that the Board of Supervisor deny the proposed amendment.  The vote was 5-2 for denial.

The Board of Supervisors meeting on December 21st will start at 9:30 a.m. and will be held at the following location:
